Taun We was in her (and my) first ever agility trial on March 22, 2007. She did great! This was a CPE trial put on by the Bay Team. My agility instructor, Peggy Clark was the trial chair.

Taun We, in her home-away-from-home. She had to wait here for me when I went to walk the courses. Dogs aren't allowed in the walk through.

This lady in the red jacket is in my agility class. She's helping set up the course. The judge for this ring is behind her, in the yellow shirt. There were 3 rings and 3 judges.

Here's a general shot of the ring-side camping out of dogs and their owners during the trial.

All the agility equipment came in two big trailers. The scores were posted on the outside of the trailer; that's why some people were staring at it.

And here are the scores! "Colors" (pick one of the 2 courses to run) Level 1, Taun We got no faults, qualified (for moving up in the CPE levels), and took second place in the 12 inch category.
Canon PowerShot SD30, 2008:03:22 15:11:30 -- 1/200 sec, f/6.3. No Flash, Auto, Red-Eye Reduce.2592x1944 Red-Eye Reduction (Auto). Large -- Medium

"Jumpers" (only jumps and tunnels) Taun We was HORRIBLY distracted by dear, sweet daddy who came to cheer her on. (See the video he got). Taun We got 23 faults, all of which were for going over time by 23 seconds (see the 37 second time limit for 12 inch dogs at the top.) She did jump a jump the wrong way; she probably should have lost points for that too, but since she didn't qualify anyway, maybe it just didn't matter. Actually, besides being distracted, she didn't do that badly.

"Wildcard" (in 3 places, pick one of 2 obstacles to do) Her time was long due to daddy distraction, but she stayed within the limit and only got 5 points off for going through the tunnel the wrong way. She came in 3rd and qualified! See the movie Jason took.

"Full House" (get points by doing as many obstacles as you can in 35 seconds) Taun We did really well. I was caught off guard when they moved this event up in the schedule. The rules seemed kinda complex, but eventually I caught on just in time to pick lots of good obstcales for TW to do. Note that we got 28 points; we only had to get 17 to qualify.

And finally, "Standard" (all obstacles in set order) TW did REALLY well this time. Too bad the other mini-poo beat us out by 1 second, or we'd'a had first!

Here is Taun We in the car, ready to go home with all her ribbons!

What not to do: Here's a movie of a poor dog so enthralled with the grass she wouldn't do ANYTHING!
